Steel Dominion is a bullet hell game where you play as Cody, a father trying to search for his daughter in a ruined scientific facility.  Dodge, parry, and freeze enemy bullets to survive!

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designed and engineered all aspects of the player combat system

  • Implemented game feel features for the 3Cs

  • Aligned all features with the creative vision

DESIGN GOALS FOR COMBAT

  • Bullets should not totally overwhelm the player -- they should be manageable enough to deal with

  • Players should always use enemy bullets against them in smart ways to defeat them

ABILITIES OVERVIEW

  • Dash: Avoid damage by dashing through and away from enemy projectiles​​

  • Deflect: Parry enemy bullets away to deal damage

  • Tether: Pull enemy bullets towards you to create a combo with Deflect, enhancing that move

  • Freeze: Build a meter up to freeze time and redirect or dodge an overwhelming amount of bullets
